I Was Here is a browser game where players can move around a shared map, place signs, craft items, and use optional social login.

Information We Collect

If you log in with Google or Discord, we may receive your account identifier, display name, and email address if the provider shares it. We use this only to identify your game account.

The game may store your player name, inventory, equipment, map position, buildings, signs, bonus pixel balance, ad reward receipts and daily limits, and session information so the game can continue working between visits. A pending ad reward receipt may be stored in your browser to retry delivery if the connection fails.

How We Use Information

We use this information to provide login, save game progress, show your player identity in the game, and maintain purchased or placed in-game content.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We use third-party providers for login, hosting, payments and optional advertising.

Optional Rewarded Ads

When enabled, signed-in players can choose to view a Google Ad Manager rewarded ad for 5 bonus pixels. Ads are requested only after you choose this option and the configured consent management platform permits the request. Declining or closing an ad does not restrict normal gameplay. The reward is delivered when the ad reports that its reward conditions have been met.

Google and its advertising partners may process device and browser information, IP addresses, cookies and other identifiers to deliver, measure and protect ads, according to your privacy choices. Bonus pixels are an account-bound in-game balance. They cannot be transferred to another player, redeemed for cash or used to purchase transferable items. They are kept separate from payments and the dollar-denominated game wallet.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or payment card details on our server.
